What happened to the Roger Smith clones?

I was watching Act 26 yet AGAIN...and I thought of something. I noticed that scene when Roger Smith is "shown" the truth while he was submerged under water with Big O. I'm referring to the sequence when Roger Smith is shown that he was created out of a cutter template machine that made carbon copies of himself.
My question after viewing that scene is this...what HAPPENED to the rest of the Roger Smith clones? If that little montage is to be believed...then there were scores of Roger Smith clones operating Big O megadeii. What happpened to them and more importantly...WHY is Roger Smith the ONLY version left in Paradigm City?
This becomes especially troubling when you consider the scene with Angel's arms caressing the TV screen image of Roger Smith. If Angel is the Director of Paradigm City...and she KNEW what happened to the other Roger Smith clones...why is the current version of Roger Smith the one she allows to "continue"?
This appears to be a very important clue to understanding what's going on in Paradigm City and quite possibly the one that will unlock the true secrets of the whole "stage".
I'm theorizing a bit here...but I have a feeling these "clones" of Roger Smith are lying dormant until there's a need to bring him back. Notice that Roger Smith is called THE Negotiator. And then there's Gordon Rosewater...who says "Long ago, I hired Roger Smith...NO...I HIRED "A" ROGER SMITH with memories".....
If Gordon Rosewater was correct about this in Act 25...then WHO is THIS Roger Smith? Was he the LAST of the Roger Smith clones who were created out of that machine template? Remember, since nobody remembers their memories prior to 40 years ago...it's entirely possible for there to have been prior copies of Roger Smith acting as "The Negotiator" in successive iterations of Paradigm City and each prior copy of Roger Smith ended up failing in his goal. But the FINAL and LAST copy of Roger Smith succeeded...by NOT merging with the Big O megadeus and becoming one with the Big. This would explain Dorothy's curious remark..."Roger Smith has made his decision." This copy of Roger Smith made the choice to live as a human being...not wanting to merge with the machine. This may also explain how Dorothy is able to survive without her memory core...she in effect has become "human".
Something to think about. Cheers.

Ok, first off... wow...
Second off, maybe the Big Os were like slaughtered 40 years ago and all them died off in that war thingy...
Im still trying to figure out everything as well, so this is coming from someone who hasnt the most amount of knowledge of the series..

You're assuming what he saw was literal truth. More than likely, its just symbolism representing Roger's continual incarnations on the stage of Paradigm.
So while there could be several R. Dorothies hiding around Paradigm (we already know of 2, there could be more), there's only one Roger Smith at any given time, just as there is only one of any other player on the great stage of Paradigm.
Either that or it's just Dark O's R.Roger factory, building ever more R. Roger's for the PCF Chat Roger Fangirl Brigade.

I was pretty curious about that too. I think it is just saying that everyone in Paradigm is a clone of someone from the real city. I have a long theory but I don't feel like putting it down.

The Roger Smith assembly line was injection-molding Roger Smith with integral suit, tie, and hair, all in one operation, like one of the cheaper action figures. The Roger Smith we know has real hair and removable clothing. So I'd say they're not the same at all.
Also, the context of that particular scene seemed to be presenting Roger Smith with alternative futures, not pasts.

Yeah, I gotta knock that one up to symbolism as well.
I think it means that Roger Smith has the same role of Negotiator in every new version of Paradigm City.
But hot damn, DorothyFan1. That was good.

Maybe there shipped off to the union, or maybe it's like an agent smith thing or maybe when roger dies, one of his clones takes his place.

They all were destroyed.
They last one "The Dominuce of megadeuce" was killed by Big Venus before 40 years ago.
Rodger is a tomato of that andriod.Thats why he can pilot Big O.

Okay, somepne please correct me if I'm wrong, but in the director's room (If I'm thinking of the same room) I thought I saw 3 figures: Angel, Roger, and a figure that resembled R. Dorothy. However, in that same room, in that same shot, you never actually saw the heads of Roger and R. Dorothy, just shots of their clothes that strongly implicated that the figures were R. Dorothy and Roger. With that being said, I would assume that only one Roger is allowed to exist because it is the true, genuine Roger. And I also believe I saw an example of that happened to the Roger clones when Roger saw 'himself' dead in the cockpit of a Big-O. I also believe that a few of those O units blew up in that memory, or..A memory.

Okay, thanks. So it DOES reveal them. I accedentially taped over acts 25 and 26 with FLCL. I thought they were at the end. There were at the beginning, where I put FLCL, and mom put 7th Heaven (over my FLCL!).

Didn't you hear? We bought them all of eBay for all the die hard Roger fan girls! XD!
Alrighty actually I think they are most likel in storage for such things as another "Event" and could be used as back ups in case the current Roer failed his mission.
Or maybe they are just lost fragements of memories... hmm...
Interesting question though! ^_^"

In my absence, I've been thinking a lot about these kinds of things.
I have come to the conclusion that the artifical Rogers are
the "Actors" in the "Play". It is possible that such an assembly existed for
everyone in Paradigm. The Reset takes place, and the Actors
are restored in the form of Androids, complete with their respective
"Memories".
It is feasible that all of Paradigm is a giant human relations experiment.
The Director is attempting to understand the logic of mankind that
led to the massive war that obliterated humanity, and is analyzing
synthetic humans in a controlled environment to discover
the root of all human conflict.
The Bigs stand as the temptation and means by which the individual
can seize power and cause destruction. Roger Smith completes the
experiment successfully, choosing to use the Big to protect,
rather than dominate.
And maybe, just maybe, I have been thinking for far too long.

Some theorys:
1. Fan girls bought them at auctions.
2. Fan girls stole them
3. The clones really live quite happily in the under ground
4. They were destroyed
5. A few have survived in Paradigm and that's why few people figure out Roger is the Dominus of Big O.*
6. They all hide in Roger's (of the mansion) wardrobe and feel extreamly imbariced.
7. They never existed and it was a obscure metapor.
*If this is the case maybe someone should tell Dorothy and Angel, then they can stop squabling.

I can't answer to your question. Nor because I don't know, because I have stil not seen the 26th episode. I have seen the episodes until the 25th. And Cartoon Network didn't display the 26th episode because of a delay with another chanel.
I only can say that 'the Big O' is like 'the Matrix', when we see the 6th Neo, like Roger and his clones, if I can say like this. And it is like 'the Truman Show'

i have quite a wild theory on the ending of big o,as we know gordon rosewater wrote the story metropolis about the end of the world, but in episode 26 we see the same book yet with angel rosewater as the writer instead ,my theory is that the world of big o is fictional, a incomplete story which his daugter angel attempted to finish by making it a tv show,in episode 26 we see several things which make me think this, firstly we see a figure of dorothy standing on instructions, possibly model kit instructions, also we see what could be roger action figures being mass produced, also a child watching roger on a tv screen, angel "filming" the scenes of her character of a child, also we see angel watching the end of big o while crying in a studo, and roger places his hand on her shoulder,if you look past roger you can see a japanese big o poster on the wall, also when you look at angel and dorothy at the end when big o is "reset" dorothy has human eyes rather than her normal robotic ones i know thats a little outthere but im trying to fit fact with theory.

Is it possible that the end of the 26th episode is only a dream, or a nigntmare created by Roger? We can't finish "the Big O" by a defeatist scenario.

I just got this idea, maybe others have had it too, but here's my theory.
Those Roger-clones weren't clones at all. They were action figures. You know, the whole Paradigm thing is a TV-Show, and TV-Shows have merchandise. So my guess is that you got a quick look into the marketing industry of "The Paradigm Show".
